History of Tiffield Society
Published: 4 April 2023
Tiffield is a village with a long history; there is evidence of a Roman villa northwest of the village, the church dates from around 1200 with a Norman font and many of the older houses are built of traditional Northamptonshire Ironstone.
The History of Tiffield Society investigates both local and national history as well as building up an archive of information about the village.
We meet on the second Tuesday of the month in ‘The George’ for presentations given by visiting speakers as well as occasional visits to places of interest. New members and visitors are always very welcome.
Some of our long standing residents have generously given their time and permission to record their recollections and memories of life in the village. We hope that this will provide present and future residents with an insight into village life in times gone by.
If you have any memories, photographs or literature about Tiffield that you would like to share with us please contact Sue on 01327 323181. Our eventual aim is to produce a village publication gathering all this information together in one place. Meanwhile, please click on the links below to view some of the material we already hold.
