COMMUNITY FLOOD RISK AND MITIGATION INVESTIGATIONS
In 2014 Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) commissioned David Smith Associates (DSA) to undertake the Community Flood Risk and Mitigation Investigations in the 15 Pathfinder locations in Northamptonshire. This included Tiffield
The investigation objectives were:
• To create a greater understanding of the flood risk within these communities and to provide details of actions that are recommended to reduce the impact and likelihood of flooding;
• To determine whether by providing communities with investigation reports about their locality, this furthers their understanding of their flood risk and motivates them to take action in their community;
• To link investigation activities to other tools being piloted such as case studies;
• To share the benefits and outcomes of having a community investigation through the online community flood resilience toolkit in order to inspire other communities to take action to
become resilient.
